Gooseham Barton is a licensed riding stables. It was established in 1974 and is approved by the British Horse Society. At Gooseham Barton we have a selection of happy, well behaved horses and ponies, from Shetlands to cobs and thoroughbreds, suitable for all ages and abilities on which you can enjoy a ride through beautiful unspoilt countryside, leafy lanes, wooded valleys and bridle paths with stunning views of the coast and Lundy Island. All rides are escorted by our experienced and friendly staff, who will make your riding as varied and interesting as possible.

Lakefield Equestrian Centre is a BHS (British Horse Society) and RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association) approved centre offering full equestrian facilities and catering for all abilities, from complete beginner to the more advanced rider. Facilites include indoor school, weather permitting outdoor school, showjumping paddock and crosscountry course. Both farm rides (short rides around the site) and good off-road hacks are offered.

At Efford Down Stables our trekking is all off road on our 100 acre farm including “Efford down”. With fantastic views along the coastline, the town and surrounding countryside, our experienced friendly escorts guide you on an enjoyable hack amidst some of Cornwalls most stunning scenery. There is no better way of getting out there and enjoying it than on horseback. The rides are suitable for adults and children, novice and experienced, even those that have never ridden before. Open Monday to Friday (plus Sundays during school holidays). Seasonally from Easter until October (allowing the horses and ponies a long winters rest).

They cater for riders of all ages and experience from age 5 upwards. Treks can be either one or two hours long and are escorted across Bodmin Moor at a pace suitable for the experience of the party riding. We can also offer a pub ride for those who fancy a gentle ride across the moor to the picturesque village of Blisland, where we hitch up the horses on the village green just outside the Blisland Inn for a refreshment stop.
