The farm offers local riding out on quiet Cornish country lanes with a few off road bridleways. Alternatively you can transport your horse to a parking site and hack out along one of the many trails throughout Cornwall - there are woodland, moorland, farmland and beach rides. Davidstow Moor is only 6 miles away and leads onto the spectacular riding offered on Bodmin Moor. You can ride on some of the North Cornwall beaches (especially during off-season periods) such as Summerleze Beach or Crooklets Beach at Bude, and enjoy riding a bit further afield on the Camel Trail.
We’ve got plenty of gently sloping pasture offering lots of room for grass kept livery. Our paddocks are part fenced and fully surrounded by traditional hedging however we strip graze using electric fencing. Horses are provided with a water supply and access to a field shelter - we provide the field maintenance and manage the muck heap.
There is plenty of space that would offer hard standing for horse boxes and a large barn that provides secure tack storage. We have an area that is ideal for putting up some jumps in the summer and in the future we plan to invest in an all-weather arena. We keep our own horse/ponies on site so in your absence can offer a degree of knowledge onsite in case of illness or emergency when you’re not about.
We charge £20 per week, per horse for DIY grass livery. Horse owners would be expected to pay directly for additional costs including hay, feed, vet and farrier bills. We do have plans to crop our own hay in 2011 and would be able to offer good rates to our liveries.
We can provide additional care of the horse, such as offering holiday cover, but this would be charged extra.Looking to experience some new hacking? Perhaps you want a holiday but don't have someone that can look after your horse? You can bring your horse on holiday with you to Pencuke Farm for £20 per horse per week. We have plenty of grass and space for them to enjoy, lots of undercover storage and plenty of secure parking for trailers and horse boxes.
